" Dissection of beta-herpesvirus interactions with fibroblasts identifies STAT1 as a driver of beta-herpesvirus latent persistence" Dr. Katarzyna Sitnik Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna

13:00 - 14:00
Raum 045, Haus 11

Katarzyna Sitnik received a PhD in Immunology at the Medical Faculty at Lund University in Sweden. She then served postdoctoral appointments in the fields of stromal immunology and herpesvirus biology respectively at the Technical University of Denmark in Copenhagen, and at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in Germany. In 2023 Katarzyna became a research group leader in stromal cell biology at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna in Austria. In her research, Katarzyna combines expertise in fibroblast biology with that in virology and virus genetic recombineering, exploring the role of stromal cells in immunomodulation and host-microbe interactions. In her talk, she will delve into her research dissecting the interactions of a beta-herpesvirus, cytomegalovirus with fibroblasts in and outside of lymphoid tissues.
