The Medical Research Centre supports researchers at the Kantonsspital St.Gallen with a wide range of services and technically advanced infrastructure in order to translate the diverse research ideas into productive research projects.
In 1996, the former Laboratory Research Unit has been transformed into an interdisciplinary research facility and has been integrated into the newly founded Medical Research Centre (MRC). The research facilities of the MRC include the Institute of Immunobiology and the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU). Since June 2009, these two permanent MRC facilities have created and maintained structures and interfaces to support and promote medical research at the cantonal hospital.
